Returns/Refunds Policy
This site doesn't exist to be an on-line retail or wholesale shopping site. I do not buy items to 'stock' and then resell to others. The site contains only the extras and overflow of what I've purchased for my own use or in assembling a collection, or parts of a collection that I'm reworking. The vast majority of what's listed here are used items - and usually vintage - that have not been under warranty for decades. Every item I list for sale is very well described, and is accompanied by high resolution photos to document their condition. By ordering and purchasing these items, you are agreeing to abide by the following policies.
Every used or 'NOS' item is sold in "As Is" condition, with no refunds or returns offered - with only one exception, where I've sent the wrong item to you in error. In that particular circumstance, I will send you the correct item(s) once I have received the wrong item(s) back; and I will refund the return shipping cost in the unlikely event that should happen. If I do not discover the error prior to your receipt of the package, you accept the obligation of returning the item(s) sent in the same condition and with the same packaging as you received them. If you realize the error prior to any return notice you receive from me, you are likewise accepting the obligation to return the item(s) in the condition and packaging you received them, and to notify me of the error within 48 hours of your receipt. If you are notified by me that a shipping error has occurred, you accept the obligation to return the item(s) to me - in the same condition and packaging - within 48 hours of that notice. You will additionally be reimbursed for the return shipping cost - which you will need to provide for the parcel's return - at an amount no greater than the original cost to ship the item(s) to you.
Items marked as "New" may only be returned under one of two conditions, where I've sent the wrong item (the same return shipping policy, as above, applies), or when the item you receive is DOA (i.e., 'Dead on Arrival'). All other reasons for returns or refunds would not apply, as I don't offer any remedy for "buyers remorse" or for any other reason beyond those explicitly stated in this policy. There is sufficient information and photos as part of the description within every listing for you to assess any item's fitness for your purpose. There is no guarantee that any item will meet your needs or perform beyond the extensive description details they include. You are expected to be your own expert, perform your own measurements to ensure proper fits, and research whether an item is correct and will match your requirements. Keep in mind that you can always ask questions prior to committing to purchase any item.
If it is a New item that is DOA ("Dead On Arrival"), and I do have an item that's an exact replacement, I will replace your DOA item. Return shipping costs are your responsibility, and I will likely choose to refund all of that cost - at my own discretion - once I've received and inspected your item, as-returned and in it's original packaging. I'm under no obligation to reimburse or refund any other fees or costs beyond the original item's price, and at my option, the actual shipping cost or a pro-rated portion of what you paid to receive your original order.
If I do not have an exact replacement item for a legitimate DOA item, I will refund the DOA item's total cost, as purchased, and refund all or, for multiple-item purchases, a pro-rated portion of your shipping costs. NOTE: If your DOA item was listed and purchased as a no-cost 'free shipping' item, your refund amount may be adjusted down to reflect my actual cost of shipping and/or handling when I've already paid out non-refundable shipping fees for your package.
No DOA returns or refunds will ever be considered or issued for any items listed and sold in "For parts or repair" condition. These items are clearly, by definition alone, fully known and acknowledged to be, partially or fully non-functional DOA items. As such, you are purchasing them in this well known, as-is/where-is state, and accept this condition in your commitment to purchase them. You assume the complete and total risk of their fitness for use.
Additional information...
- No matter what your reason or the outcome for a refund and/or return might be, any requests, processes, shipments, or related actions, must be initiated by you within seven (7) business days of the delivery date for the claimed item to qualify for a refund or return. If you take no action within that period, I can only assume you find the item(s) received to be acceptable for your purposes. This would also include your acceptance of any shipping/handling damage discovered after delivery. The one exception will be if I've made an error and sent the wrong item(s) to you and don't discover that error until some time later than the same seven (7) days. I will still expect the item(s) to be returned should I pursue your completing the return. Optionally, I might send out the item(s) as you'd originally purchased, with no expectation of any return from you - even if it occurs earlier (or later) than the seven (7) day period.
- If an item needs to be returned, you should let me know your intent before you actually repackage your item(s) for transport. I would like to know what to expect before something just 'shows up' out of thin air with no advance warning. The process with some carriers might also be better handled before you send the actual package.
- If your DOA item's condition is found to be a result of abuse, misuse, neglect, is not in the original condition as-sent and presented in the listing's photos, or it does not qualify as a DOA item when inspected, a restocking fee of 30% would apply, and no shipping costs would qualify for a refund.
- If your item was damaged in transit by your shipping carrier, it will not qualify as a DOA item. Damage claims will need to be filed with the responsible carrier for any restitution due to you for damages. I automatically add sufficient insurance coverage on every package shipped to boost coverage up to your purchase price wherever it's required when the included base insurance amount issued is insufficient... i.e., USPS has a zero-cost base coverage of $50.00 per Priority Mail package, but offers no coverage on Parcel Select packages, even though they're tracked and handled the same way. The extra cost is covered as part of the item's selling price and handling fee, so you've already paid for the added (non-refundable) coverage.
- If there's a need to file a damage claim with your carrier, you will need to keep any and all packaging and padding/fillers, complete with the affixed labeling and tracking information provided once your package was shipped. These items may all be subject to an inspection by a carrier's representative during the claims process. I will file the damage claim for you - provided that you can supply supporting information and photos as proof of the damage. Please understand that this is a claims requirement and is not an option, and do refer to the Shipping Policy page for additional details.
- Under no circumstances will handling fees or any 3rd party assessed special shipping fees ever be refunded. Every item sold has a small/modest base handling fee, and there might also be additional and non-refundable fees needed for oversized, irregular, or heavier items. These unavoidable fees are detailed as part of your final order. Again... Please refer to the Shipping Policy page for additional details.
